A Seventeenth-century Chest
An antique Louis XIII period chest entirely in oak. It is richly decorated with numerous panels carved in high relief with rhombus and diamond-point motifs, its jambs carved with goose feathers and even blackberries with their leaves at the top, what makes us think it might come from the Cevennes in the south of France . It has kept its original crenated cornice and has old restorations on the legs and new ones like the floor, the ceiling and a shelve are in new oak.
