18th-century Verdure Tapestry From Aubusson

An idealized naturalistic landscape with a parrot and a wolf in a forest, in the foreground groups of flowering plants and numerous trees with varied foliage. The scene opens onto a clearing and valley with an imposing house, and in the background, a village with a castle and bridge. A beautiful, wide leafy border. The low-warp wool weave is characteristic of the Aubusson workshops around the mid-18th century. A few minor snags are present.
