A late 19th-century walnut fireplace mantel with its copper and brass firebox. The fireplace features numerous carved ornaments such as egg-and-dart motifs, hearths, drops, and floral cascades. At its center is a cartouche flanked by olive branches. It has a curved copper firebox and an openwork grate with a lion's head at its center, framed by two brass tori. The firebox is stamped "nz / Houben aachen / auf". This ceremonial fireplace comes from a manor house.
