Cloisonné Enamel And Japanese-style Bronze Planter With Dragons
A cloisonné enamel jardinière with a delicate decoration of birds among flowering branches on a turquoise background, dating from the 19th century. It features a high-quality gilt bronze mount decorated with dragons for the handles and flowers and branches for the feet, in the Japonisme style of the second half of the 19th century. The quality of the mount is comparable to the work of major 19th-century bronze founders such as Barbedienne or Susse Frères.
