Large Bronze Sculpture
Artist: G.stockdale
Important monumental bronze sculpture with medal patina, forming a torch, depicting a Piquier (guard Sentinel) from the 16th century. This old edition bronze is distinguished by the great finesse of its chisel, especially in the rendering of the details of the armament and costume: the soldier wears a crested morion-type helmet, a buttoned pourpoint with cut sleeves and typical Renaissance shoes. He holds a spear in his right hand, transformed into a light support, surmounted by an original bronze openwork brazier. His left hand rests on the guard of his sword.
