Artist: Henry Sené (1889 - 1961 )
Henry Sené. A student at the École des Arts et Métiers in Châlons-sur-Marne, and then, from 1906, under Fernand Cormon at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He traveled extensively in Morocco, the Congo, Brazil, Peru, and Bolivia, where he was sent as head of the painting workshop at the École des Beaux-Arts in La Paz in 1926. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, where he received an honorable mention in 1913, a silver medal in 1922, the Rosa Bonheur Prize in 1924, a gold medal in 1932, and a medal of honor in 1959.
