Woman in front of a door. Edouard Ducros, painter born in Aix en Provence in 1856 and died in the same city in 1936. Student of Julien Gustave Gagliardini and Louis Gautier, he exhibited in various salons including the Salon de Paris and in Lyon and obtained an honorary diploma in Aix and a medal in Versailles and in Lyon. Post-impressionist painter, he is the founder of the Society of Friends of the Arts of Aix-en-Provence. His works are preserved in the Museums of Aix, Montpellier, Digne and Béziers. His painting The Grand Canal of Martigues was acquired by the city of Paris.
