Model 1822 Tbis Pistol
Newly manufactured Model 1822 Tbis Cavalry Pistol with percussion cap and hammer fixed to the barrel.
The lock plate is engraved "Mre Impale de Chatellerault" and stamped with a starred J within a shield. The inside of the lock plate is in perfect condition. All parts bear the same markings.
The right side of the barrel is dated C.1857 for Chatellerault, stamped with a crowned C, and marked MI for Manufacture Impériale. The breech tang is engraved "Mle 1822 Tbis".
The left side is marked "C de 17.6 A" (A for bored, i.e., bored to 17.7 mm caliber) and "N" for new. It also bears the L and M proof marks in a cartouche and the serial number 946.
On the side of the lock plate, the wood retains its acceptance stamp, which is covered with the name of the Mutzig factory that rifled the barrel around 1860. The serial number 946 of the weapon is also found there.
All the furnitures are proof-marked, as is the ramrod, which also bears the serial number 946.
This pistol is in mint condition. The proof marks are perfectly in mint condition. The mechanism is in perfect working order. The notches engage clearly.
