Antique Double Salt Cellar In Enameled And Gilded Brass, Decorated With Cherubs, Circa 1880
A charming small antique double salt cellar in enameled and gilded brass, dating from the late 19th century, circa 1880. The mount depicts an elegant bird resting on a pedestal and standing on one leg, a particularly refined decorative detail. A putto (cherub) sits on the bird's back, creating a highly original and decorative composition. The bird supports two small side cups that together form the double salt cellar. The brass containers are covered with green enamel and then finely decorated and hand-painted. They feature a delicate design of gilded scrolls and medallions depicting cherubs in classically inspired scenes. Dimensions: Height: 11 cm. Please note: some small losses or chips of enamel are visible in the photos.
