Oil On Canvas, "the Toilet" By Marie Augustin Zwiller.
The artist Marie-Augustin Zwiller was born in Didenheim (1850-1939). Throughout his life, he maintained close ties with Alsace, spending every summer there in his villa "Les Églantines" near Mulhouse. A certain parallel can be drawn between Zwiller and Jean-Jacques Henner, a shared love for their native Sundgau region, its landscapes, colors, and people. Zwiller emulated Henner in his approach to portraits and female nudes, albeit with a more vibrant palette and sometimes a greater number of subjects per canvas.
