Antique Bronze Vase, Souvenir Of The Grand Tour Of Italy, 19th Century, Etruscan
Souvenir of the Grand Tour: Antique-style vase with cherubs. Bronze with a glowing red patina. Veined marble base. H. 30 x 12 x 12 cm. An antique-style vase. Our vase, made entirely of bronze, rests on a square base of veined marble. The pear-shaped body is decorated with gadroons, and the neck is flanked by two winged cherubs. This vase is known as a Souvenir of the Grand Tour, brought back from Italy during this initiatory journey. It also bears the name of its owner, engraved on the reverse: "V CAROT". This vase is part of the production of antiquities discovered in Italy, in the Etruscan style, but also recalls, through its reddish patina, the greatest bronzes of the Renaissance.
