Spiked Halberd

This halberd is a fine 16th-century example, known as a "spiked" or "spurred" halberd. In my opinion, it dates from the 19th century, not the 16th. The shaft is cut 38 cm from the base of the socket. If desired, a simple wood graft would allow for an additional section to be added to the shaft to achieve the desired length.
The halberd's head features a wide central point with a flattened lozenge cross-section. At the base of this point, two small wings, similar to those of a partisan, protrude laterally.
Below these, on one side, is the classic corbel (crow's pick) , and on the other, the openwork moon croissant. These two elements are surmounted by triangular points parallel to the large main point; these are the "spiks" that give this type of halberd its name.
The socket is square and terminates in a rounded rim that joins the shaft. The socket is held to the shaft by two round-headed nails, or perhaps a rivet (?).
The shaft is made of ash, is quadrangular, and has a beautiful patina. It is cut 38 cm from the base of the iron, as mentioned.
Shipping costs: France €30, Europe €40.
