JAPAN - Shōwa Period (1926-1989). KABUTO composed of 18 black lacquered strips joined by 84 raised rivets. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in two gilt metal elements. SHIKORO (neck guard) with four tiers in gilt metal richly decorated with plum, green, brown, and purple silk braids. FUKIGAESHI (wings) in metal covered with suede leather stamped with stylized floral motifs and gilt metal decorated with plum and blue silk braids; they display the mon of the Asakura clan. MABI SA SHI (visor) in metal covered with suede leather stamped with stylized floral motifs. WAKIDATE in stamped and gilt metal decorated with chrysanthemums. Dimensions: 28 x 44 x 34 cm.
