A beautiful portrait depicting a young girl holding a small dog in her arms. This charming painting, titled "Young Girl and Her Dog" (inscription on the back), was painted by Henri Laville, a highly renowned painter in the 1950s and 60s. This oil on canvas is sold unframed and bears the artist's signature. Two other paintings by the same artist are for sale in our gallery (see last photo). Henri Laville was born on February 7, 1916, in Bordeaux and died on December 27, 1995, at the age of 79. Deeply attached to his city, he entered the Bordeaux School of Fine Arts and was a laureate of the Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts of that same city. He was also a student at the Paris School of Fine Arts, having received a scholarship. A resident at the Casa Velázquez in Madrid, he was awarded a prize. He also received the Vermeil Medal from the City of Paris. Throughout his career, he was praised by Many prominent figures owned some of his works, including Michel Déon, Jean Chabanon (writer and art critic), Jean Cocteau, Georges Duhamel, Sacha Guitry, Raymond Charmet, etc. Some of his works have entered private collections: the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Sacha Guitry, etc. Dimensions: height 61 cm, width 46 cm.
