Boyer & Callot Set Of Four Salt Scoops In Solid Silver And Vermeil. Minerva 950
Artist: Boyer-callot
A set of four sterling silver and vermeil salt scoops by François-Auguste Boyer-Callot, who became a master silversmith on September 13, 1865. They are richly decorated with rosettes, rows of fluting, and egg-and-dart friezes, the scoops engraved with a monogram. A beautiful, high-quality set, chased and decorated on all four sides. The maker's mark and the Minerva 1st Standard (950/1000) hallmark are stamped on each of the four pieces. Length: 8.5 cm / 3.35 in. The total weight of the four pieces in sterling silver is 24 grams. There are a few very minor losses of vermeil on the reverse at the points of contact, but no wear. The vermeil is less pronounced on one or two pieces, but the set is very homogeneous. Excellent condition for this rare and high-quality set.
