An exceptional set of 10 earthenware asparagus plates by Jules Vieillard, Bordeaux. Late 19th century, circa 1870-1880. Superb "Fan" decoration, characteristic of the Japonisme influences of the period. Ivory-glazed earthenware with a monochrome brown design. Beautiful scenes of Japanese daily life inspired by Ukiyo-e prints. Diameter: 26 cm. 6 different designs. Each plate has a recess for sauce. The set is in excellent condition.
