A 15-piece Sarreguemines Earthenware Coffee Service Set, “annales” Model.
Exceptional 15-piece Sarreguemines earthenware coffee service, “Annales” model.
This coffee set, decorated with polychrome depictions of Alsatian figures, was designed by Hansi, the pseudonym of the Alsatian artist Jean-Jacques Waltz, (1873–1951).
The coffee set, like the Hansi dinner service, was offered for sale by subscription in 1921 in the magazine *Les Annales littéraires et politiques*, which initiated and promoted the project.
The set of designs conceived by Hansi and produced by Sarreguemines captures the atmosphere of Alsace.
It consists of 6 cups and 6 saucers, 1 coffee pot, 1 milk jug, and 1 sugar bowl.
