Elegant Venetian chest of drawers dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, in the Louis XVI taste, entirely veneered in richly figured burr woods.The three-drawer front and paneled sides are covered with striking burr veneers, likely combining walnut burr with thuya (or elm) burr, a pairing typical of Venetian cabinetmaking of the period.Drawers, top and sides are framed by fine bandings and geometric reserves enhancing the natural grain patterns. The sabre-shaped legs still echo late 18th-century forms while introducing the more structured balance of early Neoclassicism.Original softwood interiors, period-compatible hardware. The top shows light age-related movement and minor undulations, consistent with its age.Overall good condition with an attractive original patina.
