Romantic Leather And Embroidered Souvenir Booklet/notebook
Dating from the early 19th century, this keepsake and love note book from the Romantic era is made of dark burgundy Cordovan leather with decorative motifs and gilt tooling. The interior contains two small, scalloped pockets lined with pink silk, each decorated with petit point: a bouquet of flowers and a lyre surrounded by roses. The book closes with a pencil that slides into loops on the edge. A charming, delicate, and fragile little object so typical of its time. Some minor wear to the edges, but nothing serious.
