World War I Soldier's Lighter Pouch Dated January 28, 1920
This unique lighter is engraved with the double inscription “Et” and “Ja” within a coat of arms, along with the date January 28, 1920; it was crafted from copper from World War I shells two years after the armistice. It resembles a handbag; the other side is engraved with ivy branches and adorned with a small decorative flap. A beautiful and rare example of folk art in a charming trompe l’oeil style.
