Opaline Vase From The Restoration Period.
This elegant, ovoid vase has a flared neck and rests on a small pedestal. Made of opaline glass, it dates from the 1830s-1840s. The body is decorated with a frieze of brightly colored, hand-painted flowers. This vase is reminiscent of the work of Jean François Robert, a porcelain painter in Sèvres during the first half of the 19th century. He ran an opaline glass decoration workshop located in Sèvres, near the royal manufactory. In good overall condition, with only minor wear to the gilding, this vase measures 30 cm in height and the neck opening is 12.8 cm.
