Early 19th Century Transitional Style Screened Chiffonier
A solid cherrywood chiffonier with a fire screen, early 19th century. Inlaid with stained wood stringing in a diamond pattern. It rests on four cabriole legs joined by a stretcher shelf. It opens with three drawers in the front. A sliding fire screen is located at the back. Finished with French polish. In very good condition. *A sliding fire screen at the back allowed one to engage in correspondence with warm feet but protected from the heat of the hearth.
