Pair Of Vases - Opaline Glass - France - 19th Century
Pair of White Opaline Vases – 19th Century. An elegant pair of white opaline vases dating from the 19th century, exquisitely crafted. Baluster-shaped with flared necks resting on circular pedestals, these vases display a harmonious silhouette typical of Second Empire decorative art. The opaline, a deep and luminous milky white, is enhanced by a rich decoration of hot-applied gilt lines. Delicate gilding in fine gold is evident: a wide gilt band highlighting the neck, finely chiseled concentric friezes on the shoulder, a triple gilt line at the base of the body, and gilt highlights on the pedestal. The pair is in excellent condition, with slight wear to the gilding consistent with age and use, and no cracks or chips.
