Military Execution Report, 1794
A very rare military execution report from the Army of the Rhine, Strasbourg Division. Handwritten notice dated 11 Prairial, Year 2 (May 30, 1794) for 23-year-old cavalryman Louis Labady of the 2nd Regiment, convicted of the crime of emigration and of bearing arms against the French Republic. Blind stamp bearing the inscription "DEATH TO TRAITORS, LIBERTY EQUALITY, FRENCH REPUBLIC." A moving document from a turbulent period in our history.
