Artist: Attr. Jakob Philipp Hackert (1737-1807)
18th-century oil on canvas, possibly attributed to Jakob Philipp Hackert, depicting a fishing scene in the port of Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. This painting was reproduced in an engraving titled "Fishermen's Houses at Saint-Valery-sur-Somme," engraved in 1770 by Jean Charles Levasseur (1734-1816). Hackert, a Prussian landscape painter, stayed in Normandy and Picardy in 1768. Giltwood frame with some losses. Dimensions with frame: Height 57 cm, Width 70.5 cm
