Louis XIII Chair In Walnut, High Back And Steeply Angled Rear Legs, 17th Century.
A very rare and exceptional Louis XIII high-back chair in solid walnut. The chair rests on two front legs turned in a baluster shape and two rear legs with a steeply angled, square cross-section and chamfered edges, providing excellent stability. These four legs are connected by a turned H-shaped baluster stretcher, as is the upper rail at the front. The back is very high and steeply inclined, offering great comfort. The seat is in very good condition and comfortable, with some wear on the front. It features studded trim. This chair is very rare due to its proportions and the exceptional angle of its back (a 26 cm drop!) as well as the rear legs. Dimensions: Back height: 111 cm; Seat height: 46 cm; Overall depth: 62 cm; Seat depth: 35 cm; Width: 48 cm. For shipping costs, please contact us.
