- This weaving offers a remarkable design thanks to the eclecticism of its motifs and the vibrancy of its colors. While its composition appears to follow a common Western arrangement with a central medallion, a field of repeating motifs, an inner border, and a second outer border, a detailed observation of its ornamental repertoire leads us back to the art of Oriental rugs. Indeed, Persian inspiration is palpable in the elegant and stylized treatment of the motifs, and in recognizable ornaments such as the botehs that compose the central medallion or the Kufic motifs on a black background of the outer border.
- The petitpoint technique employed, allowing for great fineness and quality of weaving, combined with the vitality of the colors used, gives the rug an appreciable decorative vigor.
