"15-light Chandelier In Gilded Bronze And Crystals."
This large bronze chandelier, shaped like a cage, is richly ornamented with crystals. Around a very attractive central column of cut crystal, decorated with various motifs, are fixed the lights, arranged in two tiers. Numbering fifteen, they form a first tier of nine arms, alternating with three large, wide daggers, followed by an upper tier of six arms, among which are three thinner, six-sided daggers. The whole is embellished with cut pears, smooth half-pears, rosettes, and chains of faceted beads. A blown-glass sphere completes the design. This chandelier has been completely disassembled, reassembled, regilded, and rewired. It is fitted with sockets encased in faux candles covered with real wax, creating a perfect illusion. Second half of the 19th century. Height 120 cm, width 64 cm.
