Antique carved horn spoon from Borneo (Kalimantan), attributed to the Dayak people.
The handle is finely carved with two interlocking stylised bird heads, a powerful and recurring motif in Dayak art, symbolising protection and the spiritual world. The decoration is completed with geometric chip-carved patterns, characteristic of traditional tribal craftsmanship from this region.
Made from dark polished horn, the spoon shows a beautiful natural patina acquired over time. Both sculptural and functional, this piece was likely a domestic or ceremonial object, and today stands as a striking example of Indonesian ethnographic art.
Length: 11 cm.
