He then went to Paris and entered the Académie Julian where he studied under Jules Lefebvre, Tony Robert-Fleury, and Benjamin-Constant. He is best known for his nocturnal landscapes and moonlit scenes. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris.
