The Bristol Red Girls, Sunday Service, Lord Mayor's Chapel, Bristol, 1911 by William Holt Yates TITCOMB (1859-1930) Exhibited at the Royal Academy 1911 Large 1911 interior service of the Bristol Red Girls at the Lord Mayor's Chapel, oil on canvas by William Titcomb. A fine panoramic interior scene of the Red Girls attending Sunday service who were members of a Bristol philanthropic institute and who frequently helped out at the local Hooke's Orphanage. A prime example of the artist's work, famous for his paintings of everyday life in Bristol during this period. Framed and signed.
