"Pair Of Louis XVI Period Gilt Bronze Candlesticks, 18th Century"
A pair of Louis XVI period gilt bronze candlesticks, richly decorated on the foot and stem with a floral braid against a finely chased background. Laurel wreaths adorn the stem. Fluting and gadroons embellish the candlesticks. Typical of the Greek Revival style, circa 1770-1780. Assembled in two pieces with threaded joints, numbered with a hallmark, the threadwork of the candlesticks is still visible. The gilding is in good overall condition with only minor signs of wear.
