Precious Yak Butter Tea Bowl, Wood Trimmed With Tibetan Silver

Beautiful bowl, traditionally used on Tibet and Mongolia, Nepal, for enjoying the famous yak butter tea…
it is made from turned light wood, possibly juniper, set and studded with a thick Tibetan silver mount (low standard), all of which is particularly well crafted.
Inside is lined with a thick sheet conforming to shape of this bowl, as is the wide silver-covered rim outside.
Hollow base is set by an openwork mount imitating basketry, and bottom features a deeply carved Buddhist medallion.
In excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, no restoration, 11.5cm x 7.8cm. Weight: 260g.
