Stanislas Martougen, 1873-1962, was a French painter and sculptor born in Givet (Ardennes). He studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1891, then in the studio of the master Gustave Moreau. A painter of animated compositions, nudes, and portraits, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1899 and at the Salon des Indépendants from 1905. He served as an official war artist during the First World War and created numerous war memorials. His work is listed in the Bénézit dictionary. Listed on Artprice, Artnet, etc...
This wooden panel is in very good condition.
