"Pair Of Doors From A Renaissance-era Two-part Building. School Of Fontainebleau."
A beautiful pair of Renaissance-era doors. Two young, nude figures face each other. The decoration features foliage, and the figures possess a great elegance, with a slight sway of the hips, typical of the Fontainebleau school. Two small plaques are located at the bottom of the doors, one in black and white marble, the other painted in the style of the period, possibly on cardboard. The female panel has suffered some damage at the bottom edge by wood-boring insects. The panels have been treated. France, 26th century.
