Baroque Oak Wardrobe, German, Mid-18th Century
A baroque oak wardrobe resting on five ball feet, richly carved with compass rose decorations and elaborate ornamental details, including coin strip motifs, festoons, and rosettes, arranged within a solid architectural frame. The front features two paneled doors with a decorated central stile above two small drawers. The chamfered corners are embellished with decorative pilasters. The projecting side panels, also hinged with pilasters, are particularly striking and visually complete the piece against the wall. The cornice bears the carved inscription "IAMEDMANN 17". The interior is fitted with three shelves on the left side and a clothes rail on the right.
