Arab saif saber - Arabian Peninsula, Yemen or Oman, 19th/early 20th century. Wooden scabbard and grip covered with a low-grade silver alloy, chased, openwork, and repoussé. Straight, double-edged blade with a wide central fuller. The blade is possibly European. The star-shaped guard is clearly a later replacement. Minor damage to the metal, but the overall construction is solid and tight. Weight 1400g. Weight without scabbard 743g. Total length 93.5cm. Length without scabbard 85cm. Blade length 70cm.
