Pair On Consoles, Venice 18th Century.
Elegant pair of small carved and lacquered consoles of Venetian manufacture. The tops display a delicate serpentine shape, while the undersides are decorated with a series of carved friezes featuring vegetal motifs. The sinuous legs are likewise adorned with gilded scrollwork and terminate in three curled feet.
The lacquer and overall form are typical of 18th-century Venetian workshops; these furnishings were in fact intended for the palaces of Venetian patricians and reflect the splendor and elegance of the eighteenth century in the Serenissima.
