Empire Period Portrait
A very pretty Empire-period oil on canvas portrait of a lady in a black dress, her shoulders covered by a lace-edged shawl. Her hair is styled in the characteristic fashion of the 1800s, and she wears gold earrings. This painting is in very good condition, having been recently cleaned and relined. It is presented in a heavy, slightly later keyed frame in excellent condition. Overall dimensions: 65 x 53 cm, and 45.5 x 32.5 cm for the canvas alone.
