A large boxwood netsuke depicting a seated monkey holding an octopus. The octopus returns the embrace, gently wrapping its tentacles around the figure.
The monkey’s eyes are inlaid in pale horn.
The surface displays a warm and even patina. The himotoshi are naturally formed between the legs.
