Venetian Wall Mirror, Mid‑20th Century
Venetian wall mirror dating from the mid‑20th century, featuring at its centre an oval mirror, surrounded by a second mirror engraved with floral motifs. The whole composition is enclosed within a typical Venetian frame, formed by scrolls, flowers and leaves in blown glass, delicately shaped, lightly tinted, and enhanced with subtle gold inclusions.
Each element is mounted — following traditional techniques — with small glass‑headed pins onto a wooden base, a multilayer plywood panel.
The structure of the backing allows this mirror to be attributed to the 1960s, a period in which Venetian craftsmanship renewed its forms while preserving its centuries‑old heritage.
