A charming view of the famous Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco, captured in the lively atmosphere of a beautiful sunny day. The artist has depicted the ornate façade of the building designed by Charles Garnier, with its distinctive tower and rich architectural details, set against a vibrant azure sky.
In the foreground, several elegant figures stroll, some carrying colorful parasols (yellow, red, blue) that enliven the composition and reflect the sophisticated atmosphere of the place. The color palette, dominated by the intense blues of the sky, the ochres and beiges of the façades, and the vivid touches of the clothing, evokes the Mediterranean light so beloved by artists of the French Riviera.
The work was probably created at the very beginning of the 20th century. The Monte Carlo Casino, inaugurated in 1863 and expanded in the 1870s and 1880s, was a favorite subject of Belle Époque artists, drawn to the glamour and elegance of this aristocratic resort.
The work is signed. The signature, located outside the panel, remains to be deciphered. It is in very good condition. It is displayed in an attractive modern frame with metal-inlaid corners.
The artwork can be viewed at the gallery (07240).
