Ballet Scene - Dancers Rehearsing
Oil on canvas
Signed in Cyrillic lower right
80 × 70 cm
This remarkable oil on canvas delicately captures the ethereal atmosphere of a ballet rehearsal. Contemporary artist Aleksei Tchevtchouk offers us a poetic vision of young dancers moving in a studio bathed in soft light. The composition features four ballerinas dressed in immaculate white tutus, captured in various graceful poses. In the foreground, a very young dancer leans on a chair, observing her older colleagues, creating a contemplative focal point. In the background, three ballerinas perform their exercises, their silhouettes blending harmoniously into the pictorial space.
The color palette, dominated by pastel tones of sky blue, pink, off-white, and pale ochre, lends the whole a dreamlike softness. The artist's impressionistic touch is evident in the fluid and ethereal painting technique, where contours dissolve into a milky atmosphere. The visible brushstrokes and the matte texture of the support enhance the authenticity and the unfinished, almost fleeting, character of this training scene.
The treatment of light is particularly remarkable: it seems to filter through large, invisible windows, bathing the dancers in an almost celestial aura.
A painting imbued with grace and nostalgia, celebrating the beauty of movement and the discipline of ballet.
The work is in very good condition. It is countersigned on the back. It is presented in a modern molded frame, also in very good condition.
