Important spelter sculpture with two patinas, signed Mathurin Moreau on the base. It depicts Cupid offering Venus a seashell. Molded oak base, 24 cm x 24 cm, beautifully executed. Weight: 12.5 kg. Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912) was a French sculptor renowned for his decorative sculptures. His collaboration with Val d'Osne until 1879 resulted in remarkable models of fountains, garden statues, candelabras, lampposts, etc. His models adorn public spaces throughout France and abroad.
