The background is decorated with a trophy of Roman arms, including a cuirass, a crested helmet resting on a mace, a pelta, and a standard bearing the inscription "hustibus Casis." Ink and pencil drawing. Presumed monogram added at the bottom of the sheet by Jean Charles Delafosse for attribution. 18th-century frame mounted with keys; some patina retouching to be noted.
