"Kilim Kars - Anatolia. Circa 1900. 320 X 130 Cm"
A magnificent kilim originating from Kars in Northeast Anatolia. Woven wool on wool using traditional methods. The weave is fine and delicate, the piece is supple and lightweight. The natural, plant-based dyes are both rare in this composition and perfectly harmonious. The ochre and reddish tones form ensembles of great purity, accompanied by a beautiful, densely concentrated indigo blue. Circa 1900-1920. Very good overall condition. Note: some slight red dye bleeding in the white motifs. This is quite minor and can easily be addressed by our conservator. Dimensions: 320 x 130 cm. Laurent, Beauty of Kilims
