Superb Karabakh Maffrash originating from Armenia in the Caucasus. Few Maffrash offer such dimensions. Mixed technique: wool on wool, woven, and Sumak for the two large outer panels. Maffrash are the largest carrying bags formerly used by the nomadic populations of Persia and the Caucasus. This one displays a rather varied palette of colors with the usual and unexpected presence of a sparkling yellow. The indigo blues are delightful. All these plant-based colors are dense and saturated, giving this Maffrash an ultra-luminous appearance with beautiful depth, particularly in the central section composed of successive thin horizontal bands, creating a stunning effect.
