Renaissance dagger - Western Europe, late 16th/early 17th century. Blade with a strong, flat ricasso, later becoming four-sided and double-edged. Maker's marks (very faded but discernible) are present on both sides of the ricasso, consisting of two columns of successive notched ovals and dots. Guard and handle of forged steel over a wooden core. Weight 175g. Length 33.5cm. Blade length 23.5cm.
