An Empire period marble and gilt bronze desk set comprising: - An inkwell resting on a hexagonal base of marine green marble encircled by a finely chased gilt bronze gallery, two inkwells with chased bronze lids, a pen holder decorated with openwork motifs of palmettes, olive branches, and small flowers, and a clock case frame adorned with griffins resting on a flaming urn surmounted by a laurel wreath held by a tied ribbon. Dimensions: length 32 cm / height 18 cm / depth 11 cm. - A letter holder resting on a hexagonal base matching the inkwell, with three gilt bronze frames decorated with griffins, offering two rows for mail. The rear frame rests on a marine green marble slab, from which a tied laurel wreath emerges. Dimensions: length 24 cm / height 15.5 cm / depth 9 cm
