"A Strong Chinese Sword Called A Dadao - China, First Half Of The 20th Century"
A strong Chinese saber known as a dadao - China, first half of the 20th century. Dadao literally means "great saber" in Chinese. This type of rustic saber reached its peak after the fall of the Qing dynasty, during the period of the warlords, the civil war, and the Sino-Japanese War. Strong, curved blade widening towards the point. S-shaped steel guard. Ring pommel and grip made of two wooden plates wrapped with a strip of fabric. The fabric strip is cut and worn; I've added a small tack to secure it. The guard has some play. Weight: 1730g. Length: 84cm. Blade length: 60.5cm. Blade thickness at its widest point, near the guard, approximately 7mm.
